A-Team Driving School was started by three of the best friends anyone can ask for. After working together for years as Health and Physical Education teachers, Andrew, Gary and Jason had always jokingly called themselves the "A-Team" for their commitment to excellence and hard work and always going above and beyond in their teaching. For years they always dreamed of opening their own driving school to deliver the absolute best driving instruction money can buy. So naturally, "A-Team" Driving School had to be the name. In that name you can trust your student will receive the dedicated, committed and top-of-the-line driving instruction that is synonymous with the name A-Team. We thank you for your business and are always here to answer any questions
All of our cars are approved and equipped with all safety equipment as required by the state of NJ. This includes a passenger-side brake and additional mirrors as well as the car clearly stating "Student Driver". All cars have air-conditioning for maximum student comfort during instruction.
Does my child drive right after I come into the office?
No, we must first purchase their permit and depending on how busy it is we will try our best to have your child on the road as soon as possible. On average the turnaround time is 7 days.
What if my child is 17?
If your child is 17 and passed their written test, they must go right to the DMV with the same documentation listed above and their permit will automatically be issued. We still suggest all new drivers come to driving school to develop skills so stop in during office hours to set up lessons.
Can I sign up my child before they are 16?
Yes, but we cannot purchase their permit until they turn 16 years old. So their first lesson will not begin until they are 16 years old. Coming in early is a good idea as it will help ensure they get on the schedule quickly and get the instructor they want.
What if my child needs to take the written test still or they failed it at school?
We offer the written test at our office for students up to age 16, at age 17, they must go to the DMV and take it there. We still suggest signing up for lessons for any new driver, even if the permit is obtained directly from the DMV.
What restrictions does the learner’s permit carry?
Do I have to add my driver with a permit to my insurance policy?
You do not need to add them to your policy since they are not a licensed driver, but most insurance companies require that you notify them of the change.
Can the lessons be done in 3 separate 2-hour sessions?
No, we try our best to keep all lessons 3-hours to minimize the number of days a car is on the road in order to keep our turn-around time on lessons as short as possible and our customers happy.
What do I need to bring to the road test?
Can I request an instructor?
Absolutely! And it is highly encouraged!
When do you do the lessons?
Most lessons are done after school hours, usually from 3pm – 6pm. Also we run cars on both Saturday and Sunday. This way we can accommodate just about any schedule to get your child the time behind-the-wheel they need!
Do you do the vision exam at your office?
Yes, we test the student’s vision in our office to maximize behind the wheel time. That is also why we purchase the permit prior to the beginning of lesson 1.
